One Second Fracture (Single channel video, 3' 34", 02009)

“Moving image, still image. Continuous sound, sporadic sound. Realizing that what we want to say may last longer than one second.”
One Second Fracture is about time and the connections between moments of video footage that have relationships through their momentary fragility. Through the juxtaposition of various moments, the sequences are altered in their speed to convey an idea of slowing time and fracturing seconds into split pieces. By combining several “stories” together, we begin feeling the haunting nature of what could happen at different places simultaneously. Sometimes we need a longer period of reflection to tell a story poetically.
